You are receiving this email because you are associated with a team attending the Intel Oregon FIRST LEGO League Championship Tournaments at Liberty High School on January 18 & 19, 2020. Congratulations!
1) Championship Payments are Due 1/8/2020 - TOMORROW
Business first! All team payments are due by 1/8/2020, that's Wednesday, or if you are reading this on Tuesday night - TOMORROW. If you are reading on Wednesday it's TODAY. If you read this on Thursday, it's late! Most teams have paid, but if you were expecting the magic fairy to cover your costs, please make sure they know how to pay by Credit Card, Purchase Order, or Check. If it's in the mail, a heads up email is always appreciated.
2) Don't Forget to Print Your Roster!
There are so many things to remember and I'm sure the Pre-Tournament Letter which includes the checklist has been read many times by you already. However, it's best to start the day off right! You will need your Roster and any additional consent forms first thing in the morning. Please make sure the coach of the day has these BEFORE 8am on your assigned tournament day. This will expedite the check-in process. Yes, you need this again, even though you turned it in at your Qualifying Tournament.
3) West Side / East Side, Cardinal Directions Are Confusing
Another note from the Pre-Tournament Letter, It is very important that your team members all park on the correct side of Liberty High School. Not only will this make it easier for your team to find each other in the commons, but it will help our Volunteers find parking and arrive on the correct side of the building as well. All teams and parents should park in the BIG LOT on the West Side of Liberty High School. This is the THIRD entrance and the first one AFTER the school when you come from Cornelius Pass Rd. It's on the sports fields side of the school.
Volunteers are welcome to park on the East side of the school, even if they are giving a ride to a team member, but they may need to escort their team member to the West side before checking in.
Volunteers are welcome to park on the East side of the school, even if they are giving a ride to a team member, but they may need to escort their team member to the West side before checking in.
If you see volunteer check-in when you enter Liberty High School, you are on the East side. Team Check-in and VIP, you are on the West side.
4) Volunteers Still Needed!
We are still looking for many volunteers. We have a lot of roles that can be filled by a parent or teenage sibling. We are also looking for many judges. Please consider reaching out to your innovation project expert and requesting they sign up as a project judge! They won't see your team, but I find most project experts thoroughly enjoy seeing all of the ideas of FIRST LEGO League teams. Does your company have a volunteering campaign? Please share our events and let me know you did! Volunteering will still allow any parents or siblings (if they want) to see their child's team in the arena and in Innovation Project Judging.
Volunteer on Saturday, January 18
Volunteer on Sunday, January 19

5) Where are the directions for the Core Value's Poster?
The short answer is there aren't any. However, our friends in Idaho, who will be attending our Championship, so make sure you say hi to Robin, has provided a suggestion document. You do not need to follow these suggestions, they are just for those that don't know where to start.
Not sure something about the championships? Check the website. I've got nearly everything I can think of on there! I'll even have the detailed schedules up, hopefully by the end of the week.
Wow, we are 10 days out! ORTOP is very busy getting ready and we are really really searching for those volunteers, so don't be surprised if your team is directly asked to provide someone. That said, we are still doing our best to make this the most exciting event yet! I can't wait to see all your Core Values in action and your Innovation Projects on display. New for this year, teams are invited to share with our spectators after the pits close at 3PM. Your team will have a table in the Commons and if you are not in the showcase or ladder we'd love to have you share with all of the attendees at the tournament.
Best Wishes,
Loridee
