CS Champs3 - Last Minute Updates

Greetings FIRST LEGO League Oregon Champions,

In this update you will find:
  1. Weather Update - We Are Go!
  2. Schedules & Livestream Links: Now Posted
  3. Bored Teens? We need a few more on Sunday
  4. Coat Drive for the Homeless!
  5. EMAIL IF IT'S UNSAFE FOR YOU TO ATTEND

You are receiving this email because you are associated with a team attending the Intel Oregon FIRST LEGO League Championship Tournaments at Liberty High School on January 18 & 19, 2020.  Congratulations!

1) Weather Update - We Are Go!

The weather is holding for the majority of teams. That means we are a go for the state championship!  Time to hit the road and make sure you don't leave anything behind.  Check the checklist in the Pre-Tournament letter before you get going!

2) Schedules & Livestream Links: Now Posted

I have added the detailed schedules and the Livestream links to the website. Thank you for your patience.  My priority has been on making sure we have adequate judges and other volunteers to make your tournament the best it can be!

3) Bored Teens? We need a few more on Sunday

Are you bringing a bored teen on Sunday? We could use a couple more to fill our teen eligible roles.  Please come to Volunteer Check-in to see what roles may still be available. If it is after 1PM we could use help packing up the tournament and loading it onto our truck. It's a great way to get out of the stands and help.

4) Coat Drive for the Homeless!

FIRST Tech Challenge team 11089 Out of Bounds is hosting a Coat Drive during the Championship Tournament.  Please bring any old coats in good shape to our event. They will be donated to help the homeless in Portland, Oregon.  Look for their bin in the Commons!

5) EMAIL IF IT'S UNSAFE FOR YOU TO ATTEND

I know some of you are facing snow and passes and all of that jazz.  Please keep the safety of your team in mind first!  LET ME KNOW as soon as your team makes the call not to attend. Send an email to Loridee-Wetzel@ortop.org with your team number and location.  Snow means different things to different areas. I am not going to make the call for you, please be safe.  My worst nightmare would be hearing about a team that is stuck in the snow and can't get forward or back.  It's ok to not come, if it's not safe.

But NEVER risk the safety of a person!
Keeping it short and sweet as I know some are already on the road. I look forward to seeing you all!

Best Wishes,
Loridee
