November Mission Model Discussion - M1: Elevated Places

Welcome to the November Mission Model Discussion! From now until November 22nd this space will feature ONE part of the FIRST LEGO League CITY SHAPER game challenge per day. The Robot Game is only 1/4th of the overall FIRST LEGO League challenge for teams this year!
This post is meant to be an aid, not a replacement for carefully reading the Game Guide and Updates!

At The Beginning of the Match

The bridge on your competition table is connected to the bridge on the opposite table resulting in one continuous bridge with two flags one on the East and one on the West in the span between the tables. The flags are in the down position.

Points

20 points - if the Robot is Supported by the Bridge
15 points each - If one or more Flags (max 2) are clearly raised any distance, only by the Robot

Required Scoring Conditions

At the end of the match, the team’s robot must be supported by the bridge to score. An additional 15 points can be added to the 20 for each Flag the team’s robot is raising.

Note from the Oregon Head Referees

The rules allow the other team to shove your robot off of the Bridge in order to compete for the Flag points. See Update RG12. Note that “Barriers” refers to free-standing structures. You cannot use a Barrier in your strategy for this mission.

Real-World Impact
Our society is filled with bridges. Some share joint ownership between two cities, states, or countries. Bridges are critical infrastructure that allows the movement of goods and people over rivers, lakes, other roads, and difficult passes. Without secure, well-maintained bridges this mobility would cause resource restrictions for towns and cities.

Reminders

The team can not put any barricade (other than their own robot) on the ramp. The flags will not stay up if the robot is not holding them.  This mission is only scored at the end of the match, flags raised and released before the end of the match will not score points.
