November Mission Model Discussion: M09 - TRIPOD

Welcome to the November Mission Model Discussion! From now until just before Thanksgiving this space will feature ONE part of the FIRST LEGO League HYDRO DYNAMICS game challenge per day. The Robot Game is only 1/4th of the overall FIRST LEGO League challenge for teams this year! This post is meant to be an aid, not a replacement for carefully reading the Challenge Guide!
At the Beginning of the Match: The Tripod starts in Base
Required for Scoring: All three tripod feet MUST be touching the mat, for partial score some feet are touching the mat within the Target Circle, for full score the Tripod is touching the mat and completely in the Tripod Target
Conditions: All three Tripod feet must be fully touching the mat
Score: Partial - 15 Points, Full - 20 Points
Note from Oregon Head Referee Tom:  Scores at the end of the match if all three feet are directly touching the mat and the Tripod is either Partly or Completely in either of the Tripod targets.

Real World Impact: Tripods allow inspection of small sections of accessible pipes. Only 2.5% of pipes in the United States are inspected each year. The tripod setup can get good measurements of visible problems and help maintenance teams check the aging of pipes and watch for signs of corrosion.

Discussion: The Tripod and the Manhole Covers share a scoring zone. How does your team reconcile this conflict?
