November Mission Model Discussion: M06 - SPACE STATION MODULES

Welcome to the November Mission Model Discussion! From now until just before Thanksgiving this space will feature ONE part of the FIRST LEGO League INTO ORBIT game challenge per day. The Robot Game is only 1/4th of the overall FIRST LEGO League challenge for teams this year!
This post is meant to be an aid, not a replacement for carefully reading the Challenge Guide and Updates!

Today we will explore M06 - SPACE STATION MODULES

At the Beginning of the Match

The Space Station (also referred to as the Habitation Hub) is secured to the mat West of Base. The white beam extension is on the North side of the Hub. The Dock Module (square with green tiles on the sides) is placed all the way into the port on the South side of the Habitation Hub with it's studs facing up. The Cone Module (transparent cone shape) is placed all the way into the port on the East side. The Tube Module (grey cylinder) begins in Base.

Required for Scoring

The Cone Module must be completely in Base to be eligible for scoring. The Tube Module must be in the Habitation Hub West side port. The Dock Module must be moved to the East port of the Habitation Hub.

Conditions

Modules that have been inserted in the Habitation Hub and now make up part of the Space Station must not be touching anything except the Habitation Hub to be eligible for scoring.

Points

0 - None of the requirements for scoring any Module are met.
14 - The Dock Module has been moved into the East port of the Habitation Hub and is not touching anything else. No other Modules are in a scoring position.
16 - The Cone Module is completely in Base and no other module is in a scoring position OR the Tube Module is in the West port of the Habitation Hub and not touching anything else and no other module is in a scoring position.
30 - The Dock Module is moved to the East port of the Habitation Hub and is not touching anything else and the Cone Module is completely in Base and the Tube Module is not in a scoring position OR the Dock Module is moved to the East port of the Habitation Hub and the Tube Module is in the West port of the Habitation Hub and neither are touching anything else and the Cone Module is not completely in Base.
46 - All three modules are in a scoring position. Neither the Tube Module nor the Dock Module are touching anything other than the Habitation Hub.

Note from Oregon Head Referee Tom

Modules do not need to be fully inserted into the Habitation Hub, but they must not touch anything except the Hub. Each Module has a specific required location to score points.

Real World Impact

The International Space Station is a highly versatile laboratory and residence. If your team was able to attend the talks by NASA astronaut Dr. Michael Barratt at OMSI in October or watch the Youtube recordings you will know that the International Space Station may soon have neighbors as newer space stations join Earth's orbit. As spacecraft dock, they become part of the space station. It's very important that every module, whether a new permanent part of the space station or a temporarily visiting craft makes a good connection with the space station so that there is no loss of atmosphere or other vital gases.

Discussion

There is a lot of options when it comes to this close to Base mission. Some scoring options may be easier than others. Is it time efficient to attempt to relocate all three module? Is it better to do them together or on a couple different runs? I think that most teams can complete at least part of this mission, but to get all of the modules in their scoring position will take precision. Does your team have it?
