1)  National Registration Now Open
National registration is now open on the first website. There have been several modifications to the Dashboard and the way teams register this year. Your team is encouraged to keep the same team number again this year.
Changes:
  • You can pay for your team before coaches are confirmed and complete their background check - be careful FIRST does not offer refunds if your team does not form.
  • The steps needed to be ready to coach are now easier to find on the simplified Dashboard
  • Coaches and Team Administrators with many teams can now search through them easier and the overall look of the Dasboard is more user-friendly.  If you have trouble finding things, please do not hesitate to ask, we can figure it out together!
Teams who register early will be able to order their materials from LEGO Education, but will not receive their challenge set until August.  All teams need to register by Mid-September to participate in Oregon Qualifying Tournaments.

Please note that ORTOP's website is in the process of being upgraded. Some links may go to old or discontinued pages during the transition. Please use the link above for the most up to date information on our free workshop offerings for Adults!

3) Team Financial Support Update
ORTOP will be opening up the Team Financial Support application in June. This will be a common application, for any funding sources that are directed towards me or that I can find to help our teams who need financial assistance to participate.

At this time there has not been an announcement for the Oregon Department of Education Grant that many schools benefit from each year. We will let you know the minute we hear if it opens, although at this point it does appear to be unlikely to happen.

Teams are strongly encouraged to look for fundraising opportunities, especially if your team can do something for local events this summer. Teams that are engaging in fundraising activities aside from the ORTOP Financial Support may find themselves in a stronger position to receive the rest of the support they need.
